Northern Ireland Festival of Writing is Back for 2024

The Northern Ireland Festival of Writing aims to unite aspiring and emerging writers in all genres from across the country with those who have already blazed a trail to success, to educate, encourage and inspire a new generation of talent.

Excalibur Press are delighted to once again be the media partner and sponsor of the festival.

The festival will be having a wide range of events, workshops and content available online and offline from Thursday August 8th to Sunday August 18th.

About The Festival

The inaugural Northern Ireland Festival of Writing took place in April & May of 2019. We ran online events in 2020 and 2021 thanks to Covid but never really got off the ground again.

We are a 100% volunteer run festival currently operating with no funding in place and completely reliant on the generosity, time, resources and support of others.

In launching the festival it was our aim to bring together a range of local writers and content creators from across the wide spectrum of talents that we have in Northern Ireland, to run a series of events and workshops wherein those aspiring and emerging in their chosen creative field would have the opportunity to learn from those who had successfully carved a path for them to follow, as well as providing a platform for local writers at all points in their writing journey, to showcase their achievements.

We know there is a wealth of writing talent in Northern Ireland that needs developed, promoted and celebrated.

From fiction, poetry and song writing to blogs, journalism, screen writing and corporate writing we are looking for writers of all styles and genres to come together to support one another.
